June 4, 2019 – Beginning of this year Next Ocean joined forces with Vroon Offshore Engineering to setup a trial with the Next Ocean WavePredictor on one of Vroon’s Platform Supply Vessels (PSV).

During the trial the WavePredictor proved to be capable of predicting waves and ship motions live during offshore operations. As it was the first live trial the crew did not use the system’s output in their operations yet.

However, the crew reported that the WavePredictor would significantly improve their awareness of incoming waves and potential loss of DP position in marginal conditions. Especially during operations at night.
